Job summary

Medical City Lewisville is hiring an RN Float Pool to support patient care across units during night shifts under general supervision. The role involves direct nursing duties, coordination with the care team and leadership responsibilities where needed.

The Staff RN assesses patient needs, plans interventions, and evaluates outcomes, while collaborating with patients, families and other health professionals. ADN is required; ACLS/BCLS must be obtained within defined timeframes.

Qualifications

  • RN license required with ACLS/BCLS certifications within the stated timeframes.
  • ADN required; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 1+ years of hospital experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care across units for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
  • Assess needs, plan interventions and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Supervise LVNs and non-licensed staff; perform charge nurse duties when assigned.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under general supervision the Staff RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Medical Center of Lewisville. In collaboration with patient, patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN is responsible for assessing the nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The RN provides direct care and/or supervises nursing care of LVN’s and non-licensed nursing staff. The RN is responsible for providing care consistent with the Nursing Department’s policies, procedures and standards of practice. RN’s are responsible for providing care, which is appropriate to the age specific (adolescent, adult and geriatric patients), developmental and safety needs of the assigned patient population. In addition to the RN duties and responsibilities, the RN scope includes charge duties. The charge nurse makes patient assignments and supervises and directs the staff and unit activities for the assigned shift.

What qualifications you will need
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • ADN required, BSN preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in a hospital setting
