Job summary

Medical City Lewisville is seeking a Labor & Delivery - RN for PRN night shifts. The Staff RN will provide direct nursing care, assess patient needs, and collaborate with the health care team in the Labor & Delivery unit.

Qualifications include ACLS/BLS/NRP within specified timeframes, RN license, ADN with BSN preferred, and at least 1 year of L&D experience. This role supports a Level III NICU and acute obstetric care.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NRP certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• RN license required (active).
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience in Labor & Delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with Medical Center policies and procedures.
• Assess nursing care needs, plan interventions and evaluate outcomes.
• Supervise patient care and support staff as charge nurse when assigned.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under general supervision the Staff RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Medical Center of Lewisville. In collaboration with patient, patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN is responsible for assessing the nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The RN provides direct care and/or supervises patient care provided by other department staff. The RN is responsible for providing care consistent with the Nursing Department’s policies, procedures and standards of practice. RN’s are responsible for providing care, which is appropriate to the age specific (adolescent, adult and geriatric patients), developmental and safety needs of the assigned patient population. In addition to the RN duties and responsibilities, the RN scope includes charge duties. The charge nurse makes patient assignments and supervises and directs the staff and unit activities for the assigned shift.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• NRP certification within 3 months of hire into position

• Must have a minimum of one year recent nursing experience in a Labor & Delivery Setting
