Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in New Jersey. The RN will collect patient data, perform comprehensive assessments, monitor for status changes, and tailor education to patient and family needs. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to evidence-based nursing practice.

Requirements include NJ nursing license, BLS/CPR, and 1 year Med/Surg/Tele RN experience. BSN in progress or planned within 3 years is expected.

Qualifications

Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
An active BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg/Tele RN experience is required.
BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
Ability to learn quickly, strong accountability, teamwork, ongoing education, and patient focus are required.

Responsibilities

Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation.
Performs age and disease specific assessment / data collection independently in a systematic manner focusing on physiologic, psychological and cognitive status.
Recognizes clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
Identifies education needs based on age, disease, and learning differences.
Develops a plan of care and coordinates care across the team.
Provides ongoing communication with patient/family and health care team.
Administers medications with safety, using bar-scanning and documentation tools.
Discharges patients with safe transition and continuum of care.
