Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks an experienced RN to manage daily operations of the Center for Patient Flow and optimize bed assignments. You will coordinate staff and resources, support transfer processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role requires an RN license in Alabama (or eligibility), BLS certification, and experience in patient placement. The position emphasizes collaboration with clinicians and external partners to deliver timely care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 3+ years of related experience or an Associate's degree in Nursing with 5+ years of experience.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• BLS certification required; obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations of the Center for Patient Flow.
• Ensure staff assignments are appropriate and resources allocated fairly.
• Provide oversight of transfer center and bed assignment processes.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and outside agencies for timely patient placement.
