Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to support surgical teams in the Operating Room. Under physician supervision, you will assist with exposure, hemostasis, cannulation, closure, and intraoperative tasks across robotic, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and other procedures.

You will review preoperative charts, provide patient and family education, and participate in quality improvement and staff development.

Qualifications

• BSN and Michigan RN license required.
• RNFA program completion per standards (AORN/CCI or NASC).
• CNOR certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon as first assistant during robotic and other procedures.
• Provide exposure, hemostasis, cannulation, and closure as needed.
• Review preoperative charts for surgical planning with the team.
• Educate staff and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Coordinate with nurses, physicians and family members during procedures.
