Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, MN seeks an RNFA to provide perioperative support and assist the surgeon in the operating room. Candidates should have an accredited RN program and RNFA training, with OR experience preferred. BLS will be needed within 90 days of hire.

The role emphasizes aseptic technique, patient positioning, and assisting with hemostasis and closures during procedures.

Qualifications

• RNFA program completion and RN licensure.
• Operating room experience or recent OR training preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides visualization of the operative site.
• Assists with hemostasis using appropriate techniques.
• Assists with closure of body planes and wound dressings.
• Helps position the patient and prepare the skin for procedures.
• Supports surgeon with needs and self-development in perioperative care.

Starting Pay - $40.60 to $60.89 (based on experience)

Offers for external candidates are generally made between the minimum and 3/4 point of the range, based on experience.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program and accredited RNFA program
• Operating room experience or training within the last three years preferred
• Knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and perioperative policies and procedural guidelines
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides visualization of the operative site.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques to assist with hemostasis.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques in closure of body planes.
• Selects and applies appropriate wound dressings.
• Provides assistance in securing drainage system to tissue.
• Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion techniques as appropriate.
• Assists with positioning the patient.
• Prepares the skin for procedure.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• Maintains ongoing self-development.
• Other duties as assigned.
