Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center is hiring for a part‑time/0.8 FTE perioperative RN with RNFA background to support the operating room team. The role involves visualization of the operative site, assisting with hemostasis, wound closure, dressing application, and assisting with drainage and transfusion techniques.

The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited nursing program, RNFA training or experience, aseptic technique knowledge, and BLS certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program
• RNFA program preferred
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and perioperative policies
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Visualize the operative site
• Assist with hemostasis using appropriate techniques
• Close body planes with proper techniques
• Apply appropriate wound dressings
• Assist with securing drainage systems
• Participate in volume replacement or auto transfusion
• Position the patient and prepare the skin
• Anticipate surgeon needs and maintain confidentiality
• Maintain ongoing self-development
• Other duties as assigned

0.8 FTE - Day Shift

Starting Pay - $40.60 to $60.89 (based on experience)

Offers for external candidates are generally made between the minimum and 3/4 point of the range, based on experience.

Qualifications:

• Operating room experience or training within the last three years preferred
• Knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and perioperative policies and procedural guidelines
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Job Responsibilities:

• Provides visualization of the operative site.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques to assist with hemostasis.
• Utilizes appropriate techniques in closure of body planes.
• Selects and applies appropriate wound dressings.
• Provides assistance in securing drainage system to tissue.
• Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion techniques as appropriate.
• Assists with positioning the patient.
• Prepares the skin for procedure.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Maintains ongoing self-development.
• Other duties as assigned.
