Job summary

Thompson Health in Canandaigua, NY, is seeking a part-time Nurse RN First Assistant to join the operating room team. This role collaborates with the surgeon and healthcare team to perform safe operations and achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Candidates must have NYS RN license, complete RN First Assistant course, and at least two years of diverse OR experience; starting pay based on experience; 24 hours/week with on-call nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course.
• Minimum of two (2) years diversified operating room experience with perioperative nursing skills.

Responsibilities

• Practices perioperative nursing and collaborates with the surgeon in the operative phase.
• Collaborates with the surgeon and healthcare team to ensure safe operation and optimal patient outcomes.
• Performs duties of OR staff RN when not serving as RNFA.

Job Objective:Collaborates with the surgeon and the healthcare team in performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient.

Key Responsibilities

• Practices perioperative nursing and must have acquired the necessary knowledge, skill & judgment specific to clinical practice
• Practices in collaboration with and at the direction of the surgeon in the operative phase of the perioperative experience.
• Performs duties of OR staff RN when not requested to serve as RNFA.

Requirements

• NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course
• Proficient in perioperative nursing practice, both as a scrub nurse and a circulating nurse – minimum of two (2) years diversified operating room experience.
• Demonstrates the CARES Values at all times.

Position Pay Range: $48.00-58.00/hour

Starting Pay: Based on experience
