Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia seeks an experienced RN First Assistant to deliver safe, effective perioperative care across the OR and related areas. The role includes acting as an RN First Assistant during operative procedures and, when appropriate, as an RN Circulator.

Minimum education includes graduation from a nursing program and completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program; CNOR and BLS are required. A CRNFA is preferred, with ACLS/PALS also favored for broader caseloads.

At times is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR in the role of an RN circulator.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Graduate from a school of nursing. Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience. If working in the CVOR, minimum experience of three years as an RN or Surgical Tech in the CVOR.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: RN First Assistant certification (CRNFA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, depending on patient population
