Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a skilled RN First Assistant to deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care across the OR and related areas. The role requires a nursing degree, Georgia RN licensure, and CNOR certification.

Completion of an AORN RN First Assistant program with didactic and clinical components is required; two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience is preferred, with CVOR experience ideal.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing.
• Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components.
• Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience. If working in the CVOR, minimum experience of three years as an RN or Surgical Tech in the CVOR.
• CNOR certification and BLS certification.
• Current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC Multistate License; preferred RN First Assistant certification (CRNFA) and ACLS/PALS.

Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification. At times is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR in the role of an RN circulator.
