Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, part of Piedmont Healthcare, seeks a dedicated perioperative RN first assistant to deliver safe, patient-centered care across the OR and perioperative services. The role includes assisting in surgery as an RN First Assistant and performing RN circulator duties as needed.

Minimum two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience is required; CNOR and BLS certifications are expected, with additional ACLS/PALS preferred. AORN-RN First Assistant program completion is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing.
• Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components.
• Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience; CVOR experience may require three years as RN or Surgical Tech.
• CNOR certification and BLS certification are required.
• Georgia RN license (or multistate license) is required; additional ACLS and PALS certifications may be preferred.

Responsibilities

Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification. At times is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR in the role of an RN circulator.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: RN First Assistant certification (CRNFA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, depending on patient population
