Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Johns Creek, GA is seeking an RN First Assistant to deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care across patient populations. You will function as an RN first assistant during operative procedures and as an RN circulator when needed, under appropriate supervision and credentials.

Requirements include RN licensure in Georgia, completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, and CNOR/BLS certifications with 2+ years perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing and hold an RN license in Georgia.
• Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program with didactic and clinical components.
• Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience; three years in CVOR preferred.
• CNOR certification and BLS required; ACLS/PALS optional depending on population served.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective perioperative and patient-family centered care in the OR.
• Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and invasive procedures and perioperative continuum.
• Serve as RN circulator when required to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification. At times is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR in the role of an RN circulator.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience. If working in the CVOR, minimum experience of three years as an RN or Surgical Tech in the CVOR.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: RN First Assistant certification (CRNFA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, depending on patient population
