Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a qualified RN First Assistant to deliver safe, patient-family centered perioperative care. The role includes acting as an RN First Assistant and, when needed, as an RN circulator across the OR and related areas.

Requirements include RN licensure in Georgia, completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, CNOR and BLS (ACLS/PALS optional). Two years perioperative RN/RNFA experience; CVOR experience may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing.
• Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program with didactic and clinical components.
• CNOR certification is required or preferred.
• Current Georgia RN licensure (or NLC/eNLC multistate license) per law.
• Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience; CVOR if applicable: three years.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective perioperative patient care as RNFA and RN circulator.
• Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures per scope of practice.
• Deliver patient-family centered care across perioperative continuum.
• Maintain credentialing, privileges, and competency verification.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience. If working in the CVOR, minimum experience of three years as an RN or Surgical Tech in the CVOR.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: RN First Assistant certification (CRNFA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, depending on patient population
