Powers Health in East Chicago, IN is seeking an RN Fellow for a part-time, non-benefit eligible role. The program focuses on developing clinical nursing skills within a supportive team environment.

Flexible hours, typically Mon-Fri, with an 8-hour period per schedule. The RN Fellow will observe, perform nursing care functions, and assist with admissions, discharges, vital signs, and basic patient care under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Enrollment in an accredited nursing program is required.
• Completion of at least one semester of didactic and clinical studies.

Responsibilities

• Observes and performs nursing care functions.
• Assists with admission, transfer and discharge procedures.
• Measure vital signs, patient’s height and weight.
• Answers call lights promptly.
• Performs dressing changes, skin and wound care, insertion of Foley catheters.

Position Summary

The goal of the RN Fellow program is to assist the Nursing student with the development of clinical skills. The RN Fellow, in an atmosphere of acceptance and support, will learn the art and science of Nursing within the framework of Powers Health philosophy, goals, and standards of care.
