Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced RN for the NT6 Observation unit. The role involves delivering high-quality care on a fast-paced 43-bed observation unit with a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio and patients with 24-48 hour stays.

You will collaborate with physicians, nursing supervision, and discharge staff to ensure safe, timely care. The position requires RN licensure, Nursing Diploma, and BLS certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• RN license upon hire.
• Nursing diploma required; RN with 1+ year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the Observation unit per scope of service.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of nursing care for the healthcare team.
• Complete initial assessment upon admission and develop an appropriate care plan.
• Implement plan of care and nursing interventions to meet patient needs.
• Monitor IV sites every 4 hours and start IVs per policy.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in safety reporting and quality initiatives.
