Job Summary

RN - ER. Day Shift – 36 or 48‑hour shifts accepted. Location: Specialty Bakersfield. Full‑time, Part‑time, Contract, Temporary. In‑Office | Bakersfield, CA, United States.

This position requires an RN to deliver high‑quality emergency nursing care in the ER at Specialty Bakersfield. The role involves triage, patient assessment, treatment initiation, documentation, and collaboration with physicians and care teams while maintaining safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality emergency nursing care to ER patients, prioritizing life‑saving interventions.
• Assess patient condition, triage safely, and initiate appropriate treatment plans promptly.
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in EHR systems.
• Meet and exceed performance targets through efficient throughput and quality metrics.
• Adhere to strict safety, infection control, and regulatory standards in all actions.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care teams to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, lab results, and imaging to guide decisions.
• Demonstrate continuous learning by applying evidence‑based practices and pursuing professional growth.
• Utilize data and pipelines to identify opportunities for process improvements in ER workflows.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
• Lead by example in teamwork, accountability, and ownership of outcomes.

Experience & Qualifications

• Active RN license with current ER or acute care certification.
• Minimum 2–5 years ER nursing experience as a registered nurse.
• Ability to meet throughput targets while maintaining patient safety and care quality.
• Strong critical thinking with rapid assessment and treatment planning.
• Demonstrated infection control, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Advanced cardiac and trauma life support certification (ACLS/TLS/ATLS).
• Proficiency in EHR documentation and pediatric/adult triage systems.
• Effective communication with physicians, teams, patients, and families.
• Commitment to continuous learning and evidence‑based practice.
• Experience using data to identify process improvements in ER workflows.
