Responsibilities

• Provide advanced emergency nursing care to acutely ill or injured patients.
• Perform rapid assessments and triage to prioritize patient needs in ER.
• Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders and protocols.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes with escalating care as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for patient treatment plans.
• Document all patient information accurately in electronic medical records.
• Lead or participate in rapid response and code events within the ER.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and quality standards.
• Utilize performance metrics and care pipelines to optimize ER throughput.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development and pursue certification advancement.

Experience/Qualifications

• Current RN license with valid state nursing registration.
• Active emergency department or critical care nursing certification preferred (e.g., ENA, CEN).
• BLS and ACLS certifications, PALS if required for pediatric emergencies.
• Minimum 2 years ER/acute care nursing with rapid assessment and triage experience.
• Strong clinical assessment skills, monitoring, and escalation of care as patient status changes.
• Proficient in EHR documentation, order entry, and care plan documentation.
• Ability to lead or participate in rapid response and code events with calm decisiveness.
• Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and quality improvement processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with physicians, teams, and families.
