Job summary

HCA Healthcare in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to contribute to high-quality patient care. You will perform assessments, administer treatments, document in the medical record, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, effective outcomes.

ACLS within 60 days, BLS within 30 days, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 90 days, and Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS within 60 days, with RN licensure required.

Qualifications

• RN licensure is required.
• ACLS must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after interventions.
• Perform procedures and document care in the patient record promptly and thoroughly as ordered by the medical provider.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate and resolve needs.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, medications, side effects, and follow-up steps in lay language.
• Educate about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet, exercise, and disease prevention for future self-management.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and resolve patient needs.
• Teach patients and families about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, potential side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology into lay language.
• Educate patients and families about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing them for future self‑management.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree, all must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• No travel required.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
