Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking an RN Coordinator for ED Flow/Throughput to lead patient movement through the Emergency Department with clear coordination and clinical support.

You will align staffing, patient placement, and resources to ensure organized, safe, and patient-centered care, guiding teams during urgency and complexity to keep caregivers connected and focused on delivering life‑saving care.

Qualifications

• RN is required and a Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience may substitute for the degree.
• ACLS, BLS, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, and PALS certifications must be obtained within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating patient placement, triage, EMS handoffs, and transfers.
• Aligning staffing plans with patient volume and department needs.
• Monitoring delays in care transitions and collaborating on solutions.
• Supporting safety priorities, patient experience initiatives, and quality outcomes.
• Partnering with physicians and care teams to remove barriers.
• Providing clinical guidance and escalation support as needed.
