Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced RN Coordinator for ED Flow/Throughput to ensure that patients move through the Emergency Department with clarity, timely coordination, and safe, high-quality care. You will align staffing, patient placement, and clinical resources to optimize throughput and support urgent decision-making.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in North Carolina.
• ACLS, BLS, NVCI, and PALS certifications required within specified timeframes.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient placement, triage, EMS handoffs, and inpatient transfers.
• Align staffing plans with patient volume, acuity, and department needs.
• Monitor delays in care transitions and collaborate on solutions.
• Support safety initiatives, experience improvements, and quality outcomes.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and care teams to remove barriers to care.
• Provide clinical guidance, escalation support, and direct patient care when needed.

Your role will include:

• Coordinating patient placement, triage processes, EMS handoffs, and inpatient transfers
• Aligning staffing plans with patient volume, acuity, and department needs
• Monitoring delays in care transitions and collaborating on solutions
• Supporting safety priorities, experience initiatives, and quality outcomes
• Partnering with physicians, nurses, and care teams to remove barriers
• Providingclinical guidance, escalation support, and patient care when needed

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
