Job Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to assigned patients, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure quality care.
• Perform activities in accordance with policies and guides, supervising and delegating duties to ancillary personnel.
• Conduct triage, recognize critical presentations, and perform medication reconciliation.
• Administer IVs, collect blood, and assess patient needs and responses to treatments.
• Initiate discharge planning and provide patient and family education regarding hospitalization, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Use safe medication practices and document patient responses and medication reconciliation outcomes.
• Assist with orientation and training of new staff members.

Minimum Education and Skills

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and ability to handle stressful situations.

Certifications and Licenses

• Current RN license in NC (or multi-state compact license).
• Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS and PALS within 3 months of hire; Handle with Care within 4 months.

Experience

• 1-3 years of recent acute care experience preferred.
