Job Description

We are seeking a professional nurse to provide care to a designated group of patients within our hospital. The role involves collaborating with the medical staff and healthcare team to ensure quality patient care, following approved policies, supervising ancillary staff, and performing essential nursing activities.

Essential Functions

• Triaging patients, recognizing critical presentations (stroke, chest pain), using green/red bags.
• Medication reconciliation and understanding.
• Performing IV starts and blood collection.
• Assessing and addressing patient and family needs, evaluating responses to interventions, and documenting data.
• Initiating discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach.
• Providing education to patients and families regarding hospitalization, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Practicing safe medication administration and documenting outcomes.
• Assisting with orientation and training of team members.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, stress management.

Certifications: BLS, ACLS (within 3 months), PALS (within 3 months), Handle with Care (within 4 months).

Licenses: Current RN license in NC or multi-state (compact).

Experience: 1-3 years, recent acute care experience preferred.
