Job summary

Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital in Austin, TX is seeking a dedicated RN for the Emergency Department night shift, full-time. You will provide high-quality direct nursing care following evidence-based safety protocols and maintain precise documentation for timely decision-making.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure cohesive, efficient patient care from admission through discharge, including advocacy for patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required within 6 months.
  • BLS Provider certification required within 1 month.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months.
  • Texas RN license/certification required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality direct nursing care adhering to policies and safety protocols.
  • Monitor patients closely and communicate status to the medical team.
  • Coordinate care across disciplines to ensure cohesive treatment.
  • Execute physician orders and support discharge planning for safe transitions.

How you’ll make an impact in this role


  • Clinical Protocol Excellence: Delivers high-quality direct nursing care by strictly adhering to organizational policies and evidence-based safety protocols.

  • Vigilant Patient Monitoring: Expertly implements care plans and tracks clinical status, providing real-time documentation and critical communication to the medical team.

  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Acts as the primary hub for all healthcare disciplines to synchronize treatment efforts and ensure cohesive, well-managed patient care.

  • Order Execution & Transition Advocacy: Meticulously carries out physician orders while leading collaborative discharge planning to ensure a safe and efficient transition of care.


What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:



  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.


Education:



  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
