Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a registered nurse for the Emergency Department (ED) on a PRN basis. You’ll provide direct nursing care, implement care plans, and monitor and document patient progress while ensuring safety and compassionate support for patients and families.

Ideal candidates hold an ADN or BSN and RN licensure with acute care experience; BLS/ACLS/ENPC/PALS certifications are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ENPC upon hire or within 24 months of starting in ED.
• PALS through AHA or Red Cross within one year of hire.
• Preferred BSN.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to achieve outcomes.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and family with materials considering cultural issues.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per protocol.
