Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA seeks an experienced Emergency Department RN to join our established team. You will provide direct nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced ED, acting as a patient advocate and coordinating education with patients and families.

The role requires a nursing diploma or ADN with at least two years of ED experience, WA RN license, BLS/ACLS, and PALS/TNCC within specified timelines. BSN or MSN and CEN are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program (Diploma or ADN) required.
• Minimum of two-years ER nursing experience.
• WA State RN License required.
• BLS, ACLS required by start date; PALS within 6 months; TNCC within a year.
• BSN/MSN and CEN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
• Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
• Coordinates the patient and family education process.
• Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care with patient/family involvement.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team to plan care.
• Communicates relevant information to supervisor and physicians in a timely manner.
• Documents changes in patient condition and notifies appropriate staff promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EvergreenHealth is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to join the well- established and dynamic Emergency Department team.

Job Summary: Responsible for the total direct nursing care of all patients within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Primary Duties:

• Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
• Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
• Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
• Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
• Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
• Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
• Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

Required for the position:

• Graduate of a nursing program (Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required)
• Minimum of two-years current RN Emergency Room nursing experience.
• Current WA State Registered Nurse License
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS- American Heart Association by start date.
• Current Healthcare Provider ACLS- American Heart Association by start date.
• PALS within 6 months of hire and TNCC within a year of hire

Desired for this position:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
• CEN certification is preferred.
