Job summary

CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL seeks a part-time Emergency Department RN to provide proficient nursing care in a fast-paced setting. You will perform nursing assessments, administer medications, and contribute to the care plan while documenting accurately.

A strong emphasis on patient education and coordination with care teams is required. Must hold IL RN licensure with an associate degree in nursing and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's in nursing preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Administers and monitors nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Maintains patient records and documents accurate care notes.
• Responsible for medication administration and IV therapies as applicable.
• Provides patient/family education and participates in care planning.

Shares responsibility with other health care disciplines. Reports to Department of Nursing Director.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****:*** Ensures optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process.* Maintains patient records and documents to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care.
