Job summary

CGH Medical Center is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for weekend nights. You will perform nursing assessments, develop and update care plans, and participate in evaluating patient care on the unit. Strong collaboration with the care team ensures high quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an Illinois RN license, an ADN, and BLS, with preferred BSN and blood-draw experience. Compensation ranges and benefits support ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire; maintained thereafter.
• Basic computer skills preferred; prior blood-draw knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor nursing care using the nursing process in a specialty unit.
• Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
• Administer narcotics, medications, and IV therapies per policy.
• Assess patient and family education and discharge needs.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure patient safety.

Shares responsibility with other health care disciplines. Reports to Department of Nursing Director.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****:*** Ensures optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process.* Maintains patient records and documents to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care.
