CGH Medical Center in Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a PRN, part-time basis with 0.4 scheduled weekly hours. The nurse will apply the nursing process in a fast-paced unit, contribute to care plans, and participate in evaluating care, while coordinating with other disciplines to ensure quality patient outcomes.

The role requires current Illinois RN licensure, ADN (BSN preferred), and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s in nursing preferred.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Basic computer knowledge strongly preferred.
• Prior knowledge of drawing blood preferred.

• Demonstrates proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process in a specialty unit.
• Maintains patient records and documents to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care.
• Administers medications and IV therapies in accordance with Nurse Practice Act.

• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations appropriately.
• Promotes an environment conducive to professional practice and acts as a resource to others.

Reports to Department of Nursing Director.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS****:*** Ensures optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process.* Maintains patient records and documents to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care.
