CGH Medical Center in Illinois is seeking a part-time RN in Behavioral Health to provide nursing care in a designated unit. The shift runs 7:00 am to 7:30 pm with every third weekend off.

The role involves administering medications, patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate holds an Illinois RN license with an ADN; a BSN is preferred, and BLS is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
• Maintains certification according to requirements of specialty unit.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment at CGH.
• Prior knowledge of drawing blood preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical equipment and instruments preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers and controls narcotics, medications and IV therapies in accordance with the Registered Nurse Act.
• Assesses and plans patient/family education and discharge needs.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations appropriately.
• Accountable for problem solving to include initiating, delegating and evaluating patient care team functions.
• Promotes an environment conducive to professional practice by functioning as a role model and resource person for other patient services team members.
