Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital in Avon, OH is seeking an RN to join the Emergency Department on a PRN basis, delivering direct nursing care 24/7 and coordinating patient care throughout the journey with patients and families.

You will implement care plans, monitor patient conditions, document orders, and assist with discharge planning while pursuing ongoing education to support professional growth as a caregiver.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN)
• Current state RN licensure
• BLS certification
• ACLS and PALS within hire or one year of starting in ED
• Two years of recent nursing experience for external applicants
• Internal applicants: <2 years with probationary review and approval
• Military RN experience considered

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers works variable shifts between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.

• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
• External applicants: two years of recent related nursing
• Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
• Military RN experience considered

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Two years of experience

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $43.00

Maximum hourly: $43.00
