Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital is seeking an RN for night shift to provide direct patient care in a dynamic Emergency Department. You will implement care plans, monitor patient conditions, and coordinate discharges with the clinical team.

Ideal candidates hold ADN/BSN, active RN license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. The role requires adapting to fast-paced, high-stakes environments while delivering compassionate patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN)
  • Current state RN licensure is required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications preferred or as required
  • ACLS and ENPC/PALS must be obtained per clinical guidelines
  • Experience in acute care settings is implied by ED role

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care during night shifts

  • Document and communicate patient conditions and responses
  • Evaluate and update plans of care to achieve outcomes

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross within one year of hire
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
