Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital in Avon, OH is seeking an experienced registered nurse for a PRN night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.). You will provide direct nursing care, implement and monitor care plans, and coordinate discharge planning for patients across our facilities.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma/ADN/BSN), active RN license, and BLS. ACLS and PALS are required by hire or within one year; externals welcome, internal candidates considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure is required.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS required upon hire or within one year.
• External applicants: two years of related nursing experience.
• Internal applicants: under two years experience with probation review.
• Military RN experience considered.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers works variable shifts between 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will

• Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
• External applicants: two years of recent related nursing
• Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
• Military RN experience considered

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Two years of experience

Physical Requirements

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $43.00

Maximum hourly: $43.00
