Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a registered nurse to deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process, engage families in the care continuum, and support evidence-based practices within a safety-focused environment.

The role emphasizes care planning, collaboration with the care team, and maintaining accurate EHR records. State licensure, BLS, and ongoing professional development are required; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in assigned state(s).
• BLS certification; additional certifications may be required by specialty.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and maintains professional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Continually evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes and takes action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to protocol.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, and resolves conflicts to support team collaboration.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ethical practices and respects interdisciplinary roles in integrated patient care.
• Delegates to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed personnel as appropriate.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs.
