Job summary

Opaline Talent Partners is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Educator to join a growing home care organization serving patients throughout New York City and Long Island. This role blends clinical education, quality improvement, and staff development to onboard and elevate clinical staff using data-driven training.

The RN Educator will lead onboarding, provide field mentoring, develop training on assessment, disease management, documentation, and prevention of avoidable hospitalizations,

Qualifications

  • Current New York State RN license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • 2+ years of home care experience in an LHCSA, CHHA, or MLTC environment.
  • Experience in clinical education, staff development, quality assurance, auditing, or nursing supervision.
  • Working knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations.
  • Ability to interpret clinical data and identify trends for staff education.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Comfortable educating both clinical and non-clinical employees.
  • Proficiency with technology and ability to learn EMR/EHR systems.
  • Bilingual English and Chinese, Cantonese and/or Mandarin, highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of and respect for culturally diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead orientation and onboarding programs for newly hired RNs.
  • Provide field training, mentorship, and ongoing education for visiting nurses.
  • Develop and deliver clinical training on assessment skills, disease management, documentation, compliance, and prevention of avoidable hospitalizations.
  • Conduct annual RN in-service training and in-home competency/supervision visits.
  • Review clinical indicators such as falls, hospitalizations, rehospitalizations, and other quality metrics to identify training opportunities.
  • Use chart reviews, audits, clinical outcomes, and supervision findings to develop targeted education.
  • Assess staff competency and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Develop and facilitate monthly training for Care Coordinators on clinical red flags, communication, patient outcomes, and care coordination.
  • Partner with Training & Development to support HHA orientation and in-service education.
  • Develop training materials, curricula, case studies, and other educational resources.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement initiatives and present recommendations during QA/CQI meetings.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Educator to join a growing home care organization serving patients throughout New York City and Long Island.

This role is ideal for an RN who enjoys combining clinical education, quality improvement, and staff development. The RN Educator will play an important role in onboarding and developing clinical staff while using quality and clinical outcome data to identify training needs and improve patient care.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • 2+ years of home care experience within an LHCSA, CHHA, or MLTC environment
  • Experience in clinical education, staff development, quality assurance, auditing, or nursing supervision strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations
  • Ability to interpret clinical data and identify trends that can be translated into staff education
  • Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Comfortable educating both clinical and non-clinical employees
  • Proficiency with technology and ability to learn EMR/EHR systems
