Mercy Hospital – Edmond I-35 seeks a part-time Emergency Department Registered Nurse to cover 11am–11pm shifts, totaling 24 hours per week. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care and coordinate services with other departments while upholding patient rights and Mercy standards.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license (state or compact), an ADN/ Diploma/ BSN, and BLS certification; be able to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Active RN license in hiring state or compact licensure.
• Certifications: BLS required or to be completed within 30 days of hire.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to push/pull/lift 50 lbs; prolonged standing/walking; bend/kneel/twist/squat.

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• One or more certifications may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
