Job summary

Northwest Health - Porter is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department, full-time, midshift (3p-3a) with 36 hours per week. Eligible candidates may receive up to $20,000 in student loan contributions and a relocation package.

The RN will provide patient-centered care through the nursing process, collaborate with the care team, administer medications, and participate in life-saving interventions when needed. Indiana licensure and BCLS are required, ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.
• RN licensure in Indiana or compact state.
• BCLS certification required.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred for team-based critical care.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care per nursing process and protocols.
• Assess patients, document findings, and report condition changes to care team.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.
