Northwest Health in Portage, IN is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at the Portage Freestanding ED. The role focuses on patient-centered care through the nursing process, supporting physicians and other team members. The RN will assess patients, administer medications, monitor equipment, and participate in life-saving interventions as needed.

7 a.m. – 7 p.m. shifts, 24 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process.
• Assess patients and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to plan and adjust care.
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in CPR/code team activities.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and post-discharge instructions.
