Northwest Health - Porter in Portage, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to deliver timely and safe care during nights, with a focus on quality outcomes and compassionate service.

The role requires 0-2 years of nursing experience or student rotations, RN licensure, and BCLS certification; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care.
• RN licensure in state/compact.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with policies and the nursing process.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings; reports changes to care team.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within scope of competency.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans with the care team.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions as appropriate.
• Documents patient care and education thoroughly in the medical record.
• Maintains infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
