Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health – Lake Pointe is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN Nights in the Emergency Department. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of recent ED RN experience and Texas RN licensure with eligible BLS/ACLS/PALS and related certifications.

Responsibilities include prioritizing care, creating and adjusting care plans, and delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient safety and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of true, recent Emergency Department RN experience.
• Active RN license in Texas.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, CPI certifications (can be obtained after hire).

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse on Unit is a key player in patient care management, following our nursing practice model. They work with other health care staff to deliver patient care effectively. Our Registered Nurses use the nursing process efficiently. They diagnose patient responses to health issues and create care plans accordingly. It includes evaluating healthcare needs and responses.

• Use problem-solving strategies and utilize available resources to support patients, family and staff as part of a systems thinking approach.

Key Success Factors

• Familiarity with nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
• Awareness of legal requirements and standards of certification and accreditation bodies, including the specifics of the hospital and respective department/unit.
• Good command of medical terminology, with a focus on healthcare promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention.
• Effective communication skills, along with social aptitude for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• Possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills is crucial.
• Capability to identify and report changes in patient conditions, develop, and modify patient care plans as required.
• Basic computer skills necessary for day-to-day assignments.
