Job summary

Haven Hospice in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Director of Clinical Operations to lead patient care services, drive clinical excellence, and manage budgeting and staffing for a high-quality end-of-life program.

The role emphasizes compassionate leadership, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective hospice care across the Jacksonville region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program
• Master’s degree in hospice preferred
• Three years of management experience in hospice or related health care
• RN license in the State with current licensure
• Valid driver’s license and automobile in good condition
• Ability to supervise professional and administrative personnel
• Knowledge of CHAP standards and health care regulations

Responsibilities

• Oversees all patient care services provided by the hospice team
• Advises nursing supervisors to improve patient care
• Assists with patient care planning and evaluation
• Helps prepare and manage the hospice budget
• Monitors patient volume to adjust staffing and resources
• Evaluates performance of nursing supervisors and teams
• Hires and, when necessary, terminates staff
• Conducts regular performance reviews for clinical staff
• Ensures patient records meet legal requirements
• Manages supplies and equipment for patient care
• Develops and oversees staff training programs
• Plans ongoing education and training
• Monitors and improves quality and safety of hospice services
• Promotes hospice services within the healthcare community
• Serves as acting Executive Director when main director is unavailable
