Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for Days with rotating weekends. You will perform plan-of-care interventions, administer medications, document care, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform plan of care interventions including medication administration and specimen collection.
• Document patient care provided accurately and timely.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Educate patients and families based on age, culture, and condition.
• Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.
• Engage in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance and adapt to flexible shifts/units.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Document all aspects of care in the medical record.
• Monitor and report patient status to physicians and the care team.
• Support patients with daily living activities and mobility.
• Coordinate with other care providers for safe transfers and discharges.
• Uphold patient privacy and participate in ongoing education.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain flexibility to cover shifts/units as needed.
