Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Stepdown Unit (PVSU). This is a 36-hour-per-week, full-time role with day or night shifts.

New grads are welcome to apply and participate in the 11-week Transition to Practice and a 6-month residency. The unit focuses on ventilator patients, with a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, and offers a supportive orientation and career development.

Qualifications

• Registered nursing license required
• BLS within 90 days of hire
• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing is required

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care following the nursing process
• Perform ongoing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to promote patient safety and outcomes
• Support new grads through transitions and orientation programs
