Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Critical Care Stepdown Unit - PVSU. This unit treats patients on mechanical ventilators with a 3:1 nurse-patient ratio and a strong emphasis on rehabilitation and education.

New graduates welcome; 11-week Transition to Practice leading to a 6-month residency. Base pay ranges from $41.93 to $61.01 per hour with possible shift differentials and a $20,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
• BSN or MSN (Preferred).
• Current RN license; BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate care, teaching, and health promotion with the care team.
• Monitor ventilated patients and adjust care plans; maintain a 3:1 patient ratio.
