Job summary

Northwell Career Site is seeking a registered nurse to deliver and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced clinical unit. You will assess patients, plan and implement care, educate patients and families, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BCLS, ACLS or PALS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care/PACU/ER experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and evaluates plan of care based on patient assessment.
• Systematically assesses knowledge, physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health.
• Consults with multidisciplinary health care team on nursing assessment findings.
• Creates individualized plan of care with input from patient and family.
• Communicates changes in patient status to care team and providers as necessary.
• Collaborates to adjust plan of care as needed.
• Provides and delegates patient care according to plan and protocols.
• Conducts clinical rounds, administers medications and performs procedures.
• Documents care on charts; records vitals and responses.
• Provides patient education and teaching plans.
• Participates in Quality Improvement; unit goals and audits.
• Attends in-service programs; represents unit on committees.
• Performs charge nurse and preceptor duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

RN license in New York State

BCLS/ACLS/PALS certification
