Nursing Specialty: Corrections RN
Registered Nurse (RN) Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor inmate/resident hospitalizations and medical conditions.
- Supervise and guide nursing and medical staff.
- Coordinate with facility staff, healthcare providers, and outside agencies.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare, correctional, pharmacy, and safety policies.
- Review medical records for accurate documentation and appropriate services.
- Monitor pharmacy use and controlled substances.
- Provide health education and counseling.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of medical records.
- Prepare required reports, records, and incident documentation.
- Support NCCHC, ACA, and JCAHO accreditation requirements.
- Prepare safety and incident reports and respond appropriately to emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current, valid, and unrestricted TN license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
- Must have minimum of one (1) year of related work experience
- A degree from an accredited school of Nursing
- BLS through American Heart Association or equivalent
- Additional certifications may be required
- Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
- Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
