Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. invites a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our ER team in Torrance, CA.

You will deliver rapid triage, assessments and life-saving care in a fast-paced hospital setting. This W2 position offers local pay at $66.00/hour, 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week) across days, nights, weekends and holidays, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for CEU support and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current, valid CA RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year ER experience in a Level 1 Trauma center.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required.
• NIHSS, MAB or CPI, LA City Fire/Life Safety card preferred.
• LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to start.
• PSV from licensing board or verification agency if required.
• Current required certifications and immunization records.

Responsibilities

Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse

Registered Nurse (RN) Duties & Responsibilities:

• RNs will be performing rapid triage, comprehensive patient assessments and stabilization, initiation of treatment plans, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, and assisting with emergency procedures for a diverse patient population presenting a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, including minor to major, complex, traumatic, life-threatening conditions requiring emergent intubation, cardiac complaints, complex infections, psychiatric emergencies, and other resuscitation for life-saving care to critically injured patients.

• Preferred RN experience with Cerner system documentation.

• Assess patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

• Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.

• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.

• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting safety and quality outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of one (1) year ofrecent Emergency Room nursing experience in a Level 1 Trauma Institution in a metropolitan city with a diverse population.

• AHA BLS/ACLS/PALS, NIHSS Certification,

• MAB or CPI, LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City),

• Completion of the LA County Employee Health Clearance prior to the assignment start date.

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
