Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Los Angeles, CA to provide comprehensive nursing care for adolescents in a corrections setting.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, medication administration, and coordination with physicians and mental health staff. The ideal candidate holds an active CA RN license, at least 2 years of clinical experience in relevant areas, and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in Psychiatric/Behavioral Health, Medical-Surgical, Correctional Health or ER
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City)
• Copy of PSV verification and current required certifications/compliance documents

Nursing Specialty: Corrections

RN Duties & Responsibilities:

• RNs will be assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for adolescents with acute and chronic medical conditions, behavioral health concerns, substance use disorders, and developmental needs.
• RNs will be conducting intake health screenings, administering medications and treatments, responding to medical emergencies, monitoring youth in medical observation, coordinating care with physicians and mental health professionals, maintaining accurate health records, and providing age-appropriate health.
• Individuals should be comfortable working in a locked forensic environment with frequent interactions with law enforcement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active CA state Registered Nurse license.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in one or more of the following: Psychiatric/Behavioral Health, Medical-Surgical, Correctional Health or Emergency Room (ER)
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS
• MAB or CPI
• LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City)
• Must complete the LA County Employee Health Clearance before assignment start date
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
