Job summary

Crescent Care of Elgin is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN is responsible for assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care for residents on a shift.

The role includes supervising CNA staff and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. Responsibilities include administering medications, recording notes, managing patient care plans, and ensuring a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.

• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.
• Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
• Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Responsibilities

• Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
• Ensures assigned work area is clean and sanitary.
• Directs and supervises the day-to-day CNA services for assigned unit.
• Takes and records vital signs and administers therapies as ordered.
• Receives and transcribes physician orders to charts and MAR.
• Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments.
• Counts all controlled drugs and notes discrepancies.
• Maintains safety by addressing hazards and reporting issues.
• Admits, transfers and discharges residents as necessary.
