Job summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Community Living Center (CLC) at Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, MI delivers evidence-based nursing care to residents with supervision of licensed nursing staff as needed.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency as required by VA standards.
• Nursing education from an approved program with current U.S. licensure as a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent, evidence-based nursing care to residents in the Community Living Center (CLC).
• Oversee licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting.
• Coordinate patient education, self-management, and continuum of care.
• Support nursing education, orientation, and competencies; participate in quality improvement and outcomes utilization.
• Collaborate with inter-disciplinary teams to deliver holistic care and improve patient outcomes.
• Maintain documentation accuracy in coordination with the MDS coordinator and ensure alignment with RUG scoring.
• Perform duties as assigned, including providing safe and high-quality nursing care.
