Job summary

The Community Living Center (CLC) Registered Nurse (RN) at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs provides evidence-based nursing care to residents, coordinating with licensed LVNs and CNAs, and focusing on education, self-management, and patient satisfaction across the care continuum.

The role includes administering medications, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and contributing to quality improvement and professional development within the CLC setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with appropriate accreditation.
• Current, full, active RN license in a U.S. state or territory.
• English proficiency for direct patient care per VA requirements.
• State licensure/bridge program considerations for entry to practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent, evidence-based care to Community Living Center residents.
• Oversee licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants as appropriate.
• Coordinate care with emphasis on patient education, self-management, and satisfaction.
• Administer medications and procedures per policy and guidelines.
• Participate in unit-level quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
